Workers on a building structure at sunset

Independent supervision for the ownerConstruction supervision: built the way you paid for it

We visit your site regularly, check quality, progress and materials, and send you a photo report after every visit. We work for you, not for the builder.

What we check

Eight things we look after on every project.

Supervision follows the construction documents and focuses on what can't be checked later.

Who's who on a construction site

Supervisor, site manager and DRO are not the same.

It's the most common question. All three are necessary, but only the external supervisor works exclusively for the owner.

Frequently asked questions

More clarity before you start.

What does a site supervisor do?

They regularly check that what is being built matches the project, the specifications and the budget. They verify materials, workmanship and progress, catch construction errors early and send you photo reports so you know how your project is going without having to be there.

How often do you visit the site?

It depends on the stage and size of the project. We work with packages by number of visits per week and adjust them during critical stages such as concrete pours and installations.

Are the supervisor and the site manager the same?

No. The site manager works for the builder and runs the site day to day. The supervisor works for the owner and independently checks that the work is well done and matches what is being paid.

Can I hire supervision if construction has already started?

Yes. We make an initial visit to assess the current state of the site and start supervising from there.

Is external supervision mandatory?

On private projects it usually isn't; what local regulations require, depending on the municipality, is a DRO (registered director of works). External supervision is the owner's decision to protect their investment and get independent information.

What happens if you find an error on site?

We document it with a photo, location and technical recommendation, notify you and the contractor, and follow up on later visits until it is fixed.

Do you review what the contractor charges?

Yes. As part of cost control we compare what is billed against actual progress before you approve each payment.
